Everything is bigger in Texas

...even weeds management. After Harvey the pond weeds were overflowing from our pond and settled on the pasture. We raked them up and shoveled them onto a pile. Obviously in Texas we do this with the Frond-end Loader Tractor.

And then there is Harvey!

Quick post to document what is going on on our property.

First - an areal picture of our property outlined by yellow lines.

The green lines indicate the water line on day 4. Luckily our property sloped 21 ft from the street to the bayou. I would guess that the current water rose about 15 ft over normal water levels.

Here are a few other pictures and movies from the last four days.

Getting Ready for Deer Season

We build the deer stand in the garage and then disassembled it again, placed it on a trailer and drove it out to the deer lease. Then we re-assembled it in the 108 degF heat.

Yeah! we have a platform!

The walls went up quickly.

And the roof completed the whole deer stand.

Can you see it?

Maybe now?

The Dragon arrived - meet "Ratzeputz"

We rescued four rabbits and a Bearded Dragon today from a filthy dark garage. The rabbits went to our neighbors and the dragon now lives in our living room.

For Merlot this is "the best TV ever". Both of them are in staring contest - whoever blinks first....?

Snuggle up with the new Dragon Mama.
