Grey Goose 1st Show
Madlen did show Grey Goose on Sunday in 'Baby Green' to get him started in the Hunter/Jumper circus. His show name is now officially "Her Daddy's Paycheck" which reflects the actual situation quite nicely....
He placed 5th! Congratulations!
There were 5 horses in the Baby Green Flat Class. Goose did very well. He walked, he trotted, he cantered, and ...... he galloped!
This was unexpected, he probably thought he was back in the race track where he used to be on his last gig. For some reason he thought that these other horses were competing for speed and not elegance. So he sped up and really raced around the arena leaving everyone behind (these other guys did not stand a chance as they were only cantering). When he overlapped the others he must have thought 'losers' but then the judge ordered everyone to stop and Goose really came to his senses.... he listened again to Madlen's commands and stopped.
While this all happened Madlen looked really good on our little Race Horse, aka her Daddy's Paycheck. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the event as we stopped breathing and stopped shooting pictures. Here is the last one before the speed increased. You can see the muscles and the back end getting into it.
Well - everyone including the 'paycheck' enjoyed this. Mom & paycheck producing Dad had some other feelings.
This little gallop did cost him a better placing in most peoples mind. Up to the 'incident' he was really showing nice.
This was the last show of this year, we have some time to re-educate the Goose before the circus starts next year again.
