Roger Mann's Jamboree

We have a new Friday evening "thing' to look for. The Roger Mann Jamboree. You pay a little bit to get in and bring your own beer, wine and designated driver. A lot of musicians come and they jam to mostly old country music. Cool. Next time is November 11th!

New dog toy

Diesel and Booby are now big friends.

New badge of wine

First - clean all the empty bottles. Soak them for a day in water and peel off the old labels.

Check if the wine is ready for bottling. If so, make a date with the neighbors to celebrate the next badge.

Clean the bottles with a specific cleaner.

The scrub, scrub and scrub some more.

Drain the bottles over night.

The day of bottling is always exciting.

We use now a food grade transfer pump to fill the bottles.

The the strongest of them all has to push the cork in.... :)

Heated crayons with glue sticks.

We bought a nice wax stamp to make the seal even more personal.

Raspberry Dragonfruit Shiraz & White Cranberry Pinot Grigio

Removing Pond Scum

Duck Weed and Algae did take over the pond. Since we installed the rainwater drainage lines from the house and the front pasture into the pond we have a constant supply of nutrition which leads to an increase growth of the water plants. This year we did not pay attention and this stuff took over like never before.

Some of Niklas' friend helped an d we build a boom to span between two boats. then we dragged the boom across the pond and skimmed off this stuff. At the shore we scooped it out and I dragged it of with the tractor rake.

Some pics:

We removed about 10 tractor buckets full of "stuff".
